Monday, October 12, 2009 - At 1431 hours, Gilead Fire & Rescue was dispatched to a reported single vehicle accident, with the car in a ditch. The accident happened just north of Hambright Road, with the car approximately 40 feet over a hillside. One patient had self extricated and climbed to the top of the hill, while the second patient was still in the vehicle. The second patient was put into spinal protocal, placed on a backboard and then into a stokes basket. After securing the patient in the basket, the patient was then pulled up the hill and transported by Medic to the hospital. All Gilead units cleared the scene at 1507 hours.
